ABANDONED SHORES / RIVAGE A L’ABANDON
Created on September 11th 1999, in the meat packing district between 13th and West Streets and loosely based on Heiner Müller’s trilogy « Landschaft mit Argonauten, » this site specific tsunami has been reconfigured, restructured and re-created specifically for multiple spaces between 1999 and 2002. Tied to the complete transformation of the architectural and performative spaces within a nonlinear, hyper urban schematic installation in de-contextualizing the mythical invasion of the Argonautes away from its greco-eurocentric roots through the contemporary web of conflicted realities propelled by current migrant schisms and their incessant conflicts within much of the Northern Hemisphere.
