The first Bronx Museum venture into a performance installation. Created in May 2002 as part of the Performance LAB series. RING enters the highly coded universe of hip-hop, shakers, locking and breaking with sound-captor technology. Designed to create polarities between contaminated spaces and an isolated ring, the "battle," enters a dynamic beyond personalized cliches of urban/social conflicts.
The dialogue between the virtual “paint” brush and the virtual “boxer” are translucent in offering an effervescent hip-hop universe.
